Commercial juices, especially the ones that boast “100% juice!” just don’t have the things you need to help your skin.

If you’re juicing for your health, homemade juice has things commercial juice just doesn’t.

Fiber

The fiber in homemade juice is something you really do need. It’s called soluble fiber. It’s the fiber that reduces your cholesterol levels. Those pesky LDLs your doctor keeps talking about aren’t good for your liver either, and thus aren’t good for your skin.

Remember what we said about your living having to break down fat? Yeah, those juices from the bottle aren’t going to help you with that one.

High Fructose Corn Syrup

Here’s another thing you should know about bottled juices. They can lie. The only place the bottling company has to be honest, is with the nutritional facts on the back of the bottle. It may boldly state 100% juice on the front, but on the back, you’ll find that there are a dozen other things in there. Including, but not limited to high fructose corn syrup.

But corn syrup comes from corn, right? So it can’t be all that bad!

Wrong!

High fructose corn syrup is a derivative of corn. It’s actually really bad for you. And, it’s in things you may not realize. Check your ketchup bottle, for example. This is why I get the truly all natural ketchup. It tastes better anyway.

But high fructose corn syrup is a whopping 55% fructose. This stuff gets directly metabolized into fat. It’s a dangerous carbohydrate for you. If you drink this stuff, you will build up fat in your liver. And your liver will soon look like an alcoholic’s liver.

So, drink real, homemade juice. Not that commercial stuff you find by the gallon at the store.

3. What Juices Are Good For My Skin?

Carrot Juice

This colorful root isn’t just for that rascally rabbit who keeps eating your kale plants. It’s amazing for your skin too.

Collagen. You want nice skin that doesn’t wrinkle and age and stretch, right? Well, you’re going to need some collagen. And collagen comes from Vitamin C. Carrots, this is a lot of C words, have vitamin C! So, juice them carrots!

Kale

Another part of your body you want to keep healthy: Your colon. If your colon is backed up, it can’t absorb the proper nutrients your liver needs to take care of your skin. See, everything is connected!

So, Kale, that super popular food, has incredible fiber. Fiber will keep you colon clean! Plus, kale has loads of vitamins and antioxidants that help your skin glow like the noon-day-sun.

Just Beet It

Ok, sorry for the bad pun. But beets are another liver cleanser you need in your juice right now. These beautiful roots are full of iron, potassium, niacin, copper, and vitamin C.

But be careful with beets. Eating too many of them could cause kidney stones. Just stick to half a beet at a time.

Juice fasting is awesome. Obviously, vegetables rule. But what about fruits? Are fruits bad for juice fasting? What about a fruit juice fast?

There’s a simple answer.

YES, fruits are bad for juice fasting. Unless you want to understand why then that’s all you need to know. If you’d like to understand why fruits are bad, keep reading.

To be honest, I think juice fasting with fruits SUCKS.

Whether you’re fasting with orange juice or apple, you’re not doing your body any favors.

Fruit has sugar. LOTS of sugar. Yes, fruit is healthy. If you’re eating an apple, your body is going to love you for it. As they say, an apple a day keeps the doctor away.

But in case you didn’t know, sugar is addictive. Some people believe it’s more addictive than heroin and cocaine.

The problem with juice fasting with fruits is sugar.

How do you feel when you eat a bunch of sugary foods?

Not good.

How do you think you’re going to feel if you drink sugary fruit juice for a few days straight?

Not good.

I’m not talking about bottled fruit juice. I mean homemade fruit juice. Even before companies add sugar to juice, it has already got loads of sugar.

Instead of juicing fruit, juice vegetables. This is for juice fasts. If you’re just juicing for the hell of it, juice whatever you want. But realize that the best benefits come from vegetable juice.

I know, I know… Vegetable juice doesn’t taste very good, especially when compared with the sweetness of fruit juice.

But think about your reasons. Why did you start juicing? Was it because you liked the taste or because you wanted to get healthy? If you want to lose weight, increase your energy and avoid cancer, focus on vegetables.

I use fruits to sweeten my juice recipes up. But other than that, I juice vegetables. I love adding spinach, beetroot, celery and kale. I love mixing it all together. A lot of people use them early on to help with the taste as they get used to green veggies.  However, you will find that the more you drink the less you need the sweet flavor.

Once you break the addiction to sugar, vegetable juice tastes pretty damn good. Like REALLY good. When I drink a nice big green juice, I’m laughing inside with happiness. I know that there are stacks of powerful nutrients inside. I know that I’ll feel REALLY good. I know that I’ll look sexy, that I’ll increase my energy and that I won’t get sick.

Are fruits bad for juicing? No. Are fruits bad for juice fasting? Yes.

 

Stop Crying And Start Acting

That’s great to hear.

But what are you doing about it?

How many diets have you been on, only to return? How many times have you given up? How many times have you gone crawling back to unhealthy food?

If you’re sick of being unhealthy, congratulations. You’ve taken the first step to recovery. But if you’re complaining about it, please stop. Don’t complain and don’t make excuses.

Most of the time, who’s fault is it that you are unhealthy? Aside from the obvious influence of parents, YOU are almost entirely responsible for your health. If you’re fat, it’s because YOU choose to eat too much. If you’re unhealthy, it’s because YOU have not been making healthy choices.

Understand?

Look, I don’t mean to be tough. In some cases, a person may have very little control. Perhaps they had an accident. Perhaps there was nothing else to eat. Yada yada yada…

All that is unimportant.

What’s important is what you are doing about it.

So… what are you doing about it?

Are you complaining or are you acting? Are you making excuses or are you doing something about your state?

You see, getting healthy is very simple. You don’t need books. You don’t need the latest ab exercise machine that they sell on TV during the middle of the night. You don’t need diet pills.

What you need are fresh fruits and vegetables. You need nutrients. Unfortunately, most of the crap that’s in the supermarket has very little nutritional value. Biscuits, soda, and chips are not healthy. Even so-called “health food” in supermarkets is usually processed and overloaded with sugar.

If you want to get healthy, you need to start juicing. You need fresh fruit and vegetable juice.

But that’s not all.

You’re on a juicing website. I respect that. It means that you’re trying to get healthy. But that’s not enough. On its own, juicing won’t do much. Sure, you’ll be better off than you were before, but you need to make some bigger changes than simply adding fresh fruit and vegetable juice.

Getting healthy is as much about what you don’t eat as what you eat. More than 90% of what you find in the supermarket is stuff that you shouldn’t be eating. You don’t need it. It’s junk, and it does nothing for your body. When you go to the supermarket, I want you to start focusing on the fresh food area. Heck, if possible, you want to visit that area only.
